Furniture manufacturing in Mexico has been a significant industry in the country for decades. Mexico's furniture exports to the United States exceed USD $1 billion a year. Bolstered by ballooning wages in China beginning in 2014, the Mexican furniture manufacturing industry has rapidly drawn companies to the country for its affordable yet highly-skilled labor.

Companies that choose to manufacture furniture in Mexico range from international brands like La-Z-Boy, domestic favorites like Quetzal, and specialists like Richter Design, which has produced furniture for Williams Sonoma Home, Pottery Barn, Z Gallerie, and Restoration Hardware. Swedish manufacturer IKEA is also choosing to produce furniture in Mexico with its first North American manufacturing plant. The 100,000-square-meter furniture plant, which will eventually expand to 200,000 square meters, will be located in Saltillo, Coahuila, and is expected to be completed in 2021.

Mexico's furniture production is spread across its northern and central states, with certain tasks concentrated more heavily in specific areas. Much of the country's furniture manufacturing occurs in Jalisco, Sonora, the State of Mexico, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Chihuahua, Baja California, Puebla and Monterrey.
